Closure Order Granted for City Centre Gaming Lounge
Officers from the NC04 Dedicated Neighbourhood Team have successfully obtained a two-month Closure Order on a city centre gaming lounge following ongoing concerns about antisocial behaviour linked to the premises.
The Closure Order was granted by the court after officers presented evidence demonstrating that activity associated with the location was having a significant negative impact on local residents and businesses. The order prohibits access to the premises for a period of two months.
PC Georgie, the officer leading the case, said:
"I'm pleased that the court has agreed with the findings presented by police and recognised the impact this location was having on the local community. This order will help improve the quality of life for those living and working nearby, while also safeguarding young people and diverting them away from behaviour that was causing concern."
The application was supported by extensive evidence gathered by the NC04 team, with Sergeant Tompkins attending court to provide evidence on behalf of officers involved in the investigation.
Sergeant Tompkins said:
"As the neighbourhood policing team, we are committed to making Leicester a safer and more pleasant place for everyone. I'm pleased the court has granted this Closure Order, enabling swift action to address the antisocial behaviour connected to this premises and protect those affected by it."
